No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency + Airside

A few weeks ago in Portland I kept stumbling upon the book "No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency", last week I heard a great piece about this new book based HBO/BBC show on NPR and then I read Grace's post on the show. As every The Secret reader knows, the universe was obviously telling me to go check this out ;)
I watched the first episode and loved it. The colors, pattens, characters and Jill Scott are all wonderful. My favorite part is the opening and closing credits done by Airside. They get the feel of the show and the place (Botswana) across so beautifully.

Um, this is hilarious. The American Vice-Presidential Wrestling Letterpress Poster from Yee-Haw. Did I mention that this was the Middleweight Championship featuring Sarah "the Killa from Wazilla" Palin vs. Joe "Foot in the Mouth" Biden in the New Jersey Rules (knives allowed) match? I LOVE these raygun prints by Sean Tubridy I found over at Supermarket. I think of 3 of these would look so great in our kitchen. I know that even Sasso would agree.

Rome, Italy

To commemorate the last few days of summer (how depressing) we've released our Rome Print from our Places I Have Never Been line, now available on our website. We had more rain than summer here in Boston, so maybe this will keep me thinking of sunshine and gelato until next year. Check it out here.

The Big Picture

I love the blog "The Big Picture" on Boston.com written by Alan Taylor.



One of my favorite recent posts was on the Large Hadron Collider which is apparently a "long particle accelerator straddling the border of Switzerland and France".



I'm not sure what that means exactly but these pictures are beautiful and I love how it all starts to break down into pattern. There are some great ones of the Olympic opening ceremonies too.

Lego Olympics

I saw this on Josh Spear and thought it was pretty cool. The Hong Kong Lego Users Group has recreated everything from the Bird's Nest to the Water Cube in legos. The final models are about 26' x 10' using 300k legos and 4,500 little lego folks. Now where is that little lego Michael Phelps, the one that got all that bling?

House of Mouse

Anna Greaves makes ridiculously clever mice... like a Hannibal Lecter Mouse.

Spoiler Alert!

Last year Sasso bought me this t-shirt from threadless for my birthday. It cleverly gives away the movie ending for some big blockbusters. I just laugh at it all the time when I wear it, which is a bit hard to do. This morning I saw on NotCot that threadless released a poster of the tee. I might need to pick one up for the studio so that I can crack up to it all day long.
